Areas of Consulting:

When in a company the papers turn to get more important than people, this is not always ISO 9000 to be blamed for…

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ISO 9000

TWO BASIC CONSULTATION SCHEMES

There are two types of consultation schemesmethodological consulting and full-service. The first one suits companies with highly qualified personnel – Alpha Quality trains a company team and provides full and active support and information for its further efficient work. In this way the team’s production, process and organisational know-how combines with consultants’ experience and reliable methodology. Because of the personnel full involvement in every stage of the QMS work, the resistance to change is minimal, which reduces the risks of conflicts and tension. This is very important if management wants a system customised to company’s needs, and not vise versa. In full service scheme the consultant prepares the drafts of the documents and the client reviews and validates them. This scheme is appropriate for companies with weak human resources and an urgent need to get a certificate. The work is limited to the direct ISO 9001 requirements. In practice this is not real consulting but a “ready-made suit” of the system.

STAGES IN METHODOLOGIC CONSULTING

Preparation – We conduct seminars for all managers and experts, and special training is provided for the Manager and the internal auditors of QMS. A diagnostic of the current quality assurance practice is carried out in order to identify its conformances/nonconformances to the requirements of ISO 9001 standard. On that basis job assignments and a plan are drawn so that system implementation may start as an organisational project.

Working stagesdesign of structures and resources for quality assurance are defined and provided; appropriate documents (procedures, instructions, etc.) are composed as draft versions; trial implementation – application of documents in practice aimed at their correction and improvement, and at eliminating faults; working implementation – the final versions of the documents are obligatory to use; evidence and data are gathered for the effective application of the system to improve quality.

Pre-certification programinternal audits and management reviews are carried out; brief training and pre-audit instructions for personnel at all levels are provided; a third party simulation audit may be conducted as a very efficient method to examine the company readiness for the strict registration audit; technical maintenance, service and repair activities are carried out to prepare the site and facilities for the official inspection visit of the registrar
